Farr Rd. victim dies at Midtown Medical Center

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The ninth homicide victim of 2014 died on April 28 in the Midtown Medical Center, says the Muscogee County Coroner.

The victim, 50-year-old Clifford Kendrick, died in the Intensive Care Unit. He was shot in his buttock inside his home on Farr Rd. on April 9.

Kendrick's family says he sold chips and candy to neighborhood children at the Parkwood Mobile Park for years.

"He has lost his life and I'm hoping that the officers of whoever in charge, find the perons that did it because they should pay because a person has lost their life. Because he shouldn't have to lose his life from material or electronic things," says his cousin Willie-Mae Davis.

Kendrick told police that he answered his door late that night and the three suspects came inside wielding handguns. He says the suspects shot him as he turned to run away.

The first suspect is described as a black male between 17-20 years old with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a brown hooded shirt and a white handkerchief over his face.

The second suspect is a black male between 17-20 years old. The third suspect's description is unknown.
