(WTVM) - As the severe weather continues to be a threat for people across the southeast, many people are stepping up to help.
The American Red Cross is responding to areas affected by the deadly storms.
Volunteers with the West-Central Georgia branch of the Red Cross are out in Muscogee County and south Harris County accessing the damage.
Red Cross representatives say the severe weather shouldn't be taken lightly.
"We really just want people to take it serious," said Ryan Logan with the American Red Cross of West-Central Georgia. "We don't want people to let their guard down because as we've seen from the damage in Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama these things aren't to be taken lightly. So we want people to really be vigilant and to take preparedness seriously."
