COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - This weekend, some passengers will get to take a trip back in time on an airplane!
More specifically, they will be flying on a genuine 1929 Ford tri-motor.
The Chattahoochee Valley Experimental Aircraft Association has teamed up with the Columbus Airport to host the event "Fly on the Ford."
Passengers can reserve their ride on the historic airliner and learn more about this history of air travel.
"What a pleasure it is to fly for EAA and to be part of the organization," said volunteer pilot Ed Rusch. "It's a wonderful organization dedicated to what I've explained before the maintenance on our aircraft is perfection itself and we just want to go out there to promote aviation and make people smile"
The "Fly on the Ford" event will begin Friday, May 2 and run through Sunday, May 4.
Tickets are $70 if you order them in advance. Visit their website at this link for more information.
