(WXTX) - AAA and Bud Light are offering the Tow to Go program for Cinco de Mayo weekend. The program is designed to help discourage an intoxicated driver from getting behind the wheel. It is free and available to both AAA members and non-members from May 2 through 5.
Tow to Go Services provide a confidential local ride within a 10-mile radius to a safe location. The AAA service vehicle takes the driver and their car home.
Almost three in ten (or 28 percent) report that consumers likely to use a designated driver for Cinco de Mayo, shows the AAA Consumer Pulse™ Survey.
"If you plan to celebrate this holiday weekend, we strongly suggest that you have a plan for a designated driver before you have your first drink," said Gerry Gutowski, Sr. Vice President, Automotive Services, AAA - The Auto Club Group.
"The Tow to Go program is an effective way to promote the use of designated drivers and help prevent drunk driving," said Kathy Casso, vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility for Anheuser-Busch. "We're pleased to partner with AAA and their roadside assistance drivers to help keep motorists safe."
Since its inception in 1998, Tow to Go has safely removed more than 23,000 intoxicated drivers from the roads. The service is designed to be used as a last resort. It is offered based on availability of AAA drivers and tow trucks during times of high call volume. AAA - The Auto Club Group has provided the Tow to Go service for more than 16 years because it allows AAA to protect the freedom and mobility of motorists on our roadways.
