Verizon to bring more than 400 jobs to Alabama

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Verizon Wireless will hire more than 400 full-time employees in Alabama this year, Gov. Robert Bentley and Verizon announced Tuesday in Montgomery.

More than 300 of the positions are at call centers at Verizon's state headquarters in Huntsville. There will also be retail positions in other areas of the state, including Birmingham and Dothan.

The company will host a career open house in Huntsville Thursday.
