SELMA, AL (WSFA) -

A young boy is recovering in Selma after a shooting Tuesday involving his brother's gun.

Selma Police say the shooting occurred on the 1900 block of Marie Foster Street. When officers arrived on the scene, they located a 12-year-old victim suffering a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Following an initial investigation, officers determined the shooting suspect to be a 15-year-old male. After locating the suspect, questioning revealed the gun used in the shooting belonged to the brother of the victim, 19-year-old Antonio Latrey Green-Howell.

The 15-year-old shooting suspect led investigators to the gun used in the shooting, and it was determined that the gun was given to the suspect by Howell.

Howell is under arrest and charged with delivery of a firearm to a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He has been transported to the Dallas County Jail with a $16,000 bond.

The juvenile is under arrest and charged with assault second degree. He is being held at the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Facility awaiting a hearing.
