Columbus LGBT support group to hold upcoming festival

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus-based gay rights advocacy group is gearing up for a gay pride festival.

The Chattahoochee Valley Better-Way Foundation held a press conference on Wednesday to preview the event.

"COLGAY Pride" will be held Saturday June 21 at the Uptown Columbus Stage.

We spoke to one of the event organizers about the importance of the festival.

"The COLGAY Pride is one of our biggest assets right now is to work with the gay lesbian groups out there especially gay men with our partnership with the empower project the and find us online," said Jeremy Hobbs with Chattahoochee Valley Better Way Foundation.

COLGAY Pride will kick off at 11 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. Mix Ultra Lounge is hosting the after party at 9 p.m.
