In 1836, there was a wooden shack on the banks of the Chattahoochee River that grew into the modern medical marvel we know today as Columbus Regional's Midtown Medical Center.
It takes a lot of money to run a state-of-the-art children's hospital and among its many supporters is Scott Ressmeyer - now famous for his "Scott's Ride For Miracles."
Scott is riding right now, leading 15 motorcycle riders on a 48-state journey that ends May 23 to raise awareness and thousands of dollars to meet local children's medical needs.
So far, Scott's Ride has raised $650,000 for Midtown Medical Center. It's only one of six facilities in Georgia where infants with critical health issues can benefit from a neonatal intensive care unit and the area's only full-service pediatric intensive care unit.
100 percent of the money Scott raises for the Children's Miracle Network stays in our community to help our sick and injured children.
Scott's Ride is a nationally known symbol of the generosity and leadership of the Columbus area when it comes to supporting the absolutely vital services Midtown Medical offers.
Please take a moment and click this link to learn more about Scott, the riders -- who all pay their own way for the trip -- and to learn more about how you can help.
Our thanks go to Scott, Columbus Regional, and especially you for making Scott's Ride pay for the extraordinary care every sick child deserves.
