2 hospitalized after collision involving Chevy Malibu, dump truck

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

Two people have been hospitalized after a wreck involving a Chevy Malibu and a 2001 Navistar dump truck on Tuesday, May 13.

The accident occurred at 1:28 p.m. Central Time when the Malibu, occupied by a 23-year-female from Tallassee and a 23-year-old male from Auburn,  collided with the dump truck at the intersection of Shell Toomer Parkway and Mill Creek Road in Auburn.

The truck driver, a 59-year-old man from Seale, Alabama did not sustain serious injuries.

The female driver of the Malibu was lifeflighted to Columbus Regional with serious injuries.  The male passenger was treated at the scene and transported to EAMC with non-life threatening injuries.

This case remains under investigation by Auburn Police Department.
