GA’s Teacher of the Year honored at Atlanta ceremony

ATLANTA, GA (WTVM) -

A middle Georgia teacher has been recognized for her dedication inside the classroom

Amanda Miliner, a fourth-grade teacher at Miller Elementary in Warner Robins, is this year's Georgia Teacher of the Year.

She was chosen from 10 finalists during a ceremony in Atlanta.

The former Miss Georgia was raised by a single mother on active duty in the Air Force.

Congratulations to Amanda Miliner - Georgia's Teacher of the Year!

You can see it on stage in a play called Ace: The Eugene Bullard Story. Playwright Natalia Naman Temesgen stopped by WTVM to tell us all about it.
