TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now/AP) -

Chicago Bears Running back selection Ka'Deem Carey (UA '13) took one look at the brief mid-May snowstorm, saw the team headed inside the Walter Payton Center and couldn't have been happier.

"I was like, 'Yes, we're not outside in that cold,'" Carey said, calling it shocking. "Nobody was telling me it was going to be snowing out there."

Welcome to your new world. On a day when temps in his hometown reached 100, the Wildcats all-time leading rusher started his new job in his new city in May needing an over coat to protect him from the chilly wind off Lake Michigan.

Carey's first NFL practices have gone at a fast pace, a pace he's used to thanks to two seasons spent in Rich Rodriguez's uptemp offense.

The first thing he said to himself when he pulled on that Bears jersey was, "Yes".

"This is great now you gotta do some things in this Bears jersey," Carey said. "Now you gotta not just put it on but you gotta get it dirty and get in that end zone."
