COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A 30-year-old man died at Midtown Medical Center after being stabbed in the chest Sunday night, says the Muscogee County coroner.

Anthony Tirrell Murray was transported to the hospital at around 11 p.m. Coroner Buddy Bryan says he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The incident happened in the Oakland Park neighborhood in Columbus. According to police, Murray engaged in an argument with his girlfriend Pricilla Harris at a neighbor's residence before returning to their home on Rice Street. The argument escalated, and police say Harris fatally stabbed Murray in the chest.

Harris has been charged with murder (family violence) and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.

Her first hearing will take place at Recorder's Court on May 21 at 9 a.m.
