COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Candidates hoping to be the next United States senator from the state of Georgia are making one last push to get out the vote.
Candidate David Perdue made a pitstop Monday, May 19 to the Fountain City during his state-wide "fly-around tour" with his cousin former governor Sonny Perdue.
We caught up with Perdue as he praised a member of his campaign board.
"I just want to say thank you so much to each of you guys for what I know you've been doing because I know she's a work horse, I know she's made you work, but I just appreciate all y'all have done, thank you and God bless you," Perdue said.
Perdue is one of seven Republican candidates looking to fill retiring Senator Saxby Chambliss' seat.
Candidate Karen Handel also stopped in Columbus Monday to speak with voters.
Four candidates are running for the Democratic nomination.
