US Senate candidate Karen Handel visits Columbus


Candidates hoping to bethe next United States Senator from the State of Georgia have made one lastpush to get votes in Columbus.

Candidate Karen Handel stopped in the Fountain City on Monday, May 19, during her state-widefly-around.

Handle says traveling andcampaigning is time-consuming, but it must be done to bring about change.

"It's a lot of hardwork, but it's all worth it, because we know that so much is at stake forGeorgia and for our country. We are at a real crossroads where we better getserious about restoring fiscal stability and rebooting this economy in a waythat can really start creating good, quality jobs," Handel says.

Handel is one of seven Republicancandidates looking to fill retiring Senator Saxby Chambliss' seat. CandidateDavid Perdue also stopped in Columbus on Monday to speak with voters.

Four candidates arerunning for the Democratic nomination as well.
