COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

With the clock winding down to the end of this year's election, Mayor Teresa Tomlinson's campaign headquarters on Macon Road is packed with supporters ready for the results.

"We've asked each and every citizen of Columbus to look into their hearts and vote for leadership in Columbus. The leadership that we've enjoyed for the last four years has made it the best place to live and people are coming back here in droves, we are the second largest city in Georgia and everyone wants to live here…" says supporter Patricia Lassiter.

Mayor Tomlinson's lone challenger Colin Martin also gathering to wait for results with his supporters in South Columbus. Several big endorsements from community organizations are adding fuel to his charge.

"Well, it's been a lot of fun this campaign. We've put forward a positive plan to deal with the crime and public safety, we've talked about economic development and we've talked about bringing people together. We have the endorsement of many elected officials, city-wide elected officials; we're the only candidate in this race who has the endorsement of almost every city-wide elected official in the city," says Martin.

Polls close May 20 at 7 p.m.
