COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Columbus voters have spoken, and the incumbent stays. Teresa Tomlinson has been reelected as Mayor of Columbus.

She beat back a tough challenge from Colin Martin in winning Tuesday's primary election. Now, Tomlinson will have four more years, as many of her supporters chanted throughout Election Day.

Tomlinson says she gives the victory to her supporters and the voters in Columbus.

"I am telling you there are so many great supporters here," she says. "They're the ones who put steel in my spine even on the darkest days. And so we've got to do this, because it's about Columbus. We have a great city, and we've only just begun."

The Mayor also said in her victory speech, "You ain't seen nothing yet." She says she plans to do so much more in the next four years than she's already done in the past as the Mayor here of the city of Columbus.
