COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus police need your help locating a man wanted for murder. News Leader 9's Semone Doughton has all you need to know in this week's Most Wanted.
It's a crime that shook up a Columbus neighborhood and left a man dead.
This was the scene on April 24 at the intersection of Adair Avenue and Wynnton Road: When police arrived on the scene they found 29-year-old Corey Owens inside a 2003 white SUV with a single gunshot wound to the head.
Owens died a short time later.
Columbus Police say 22-year-old SaCorey McKelvey is wanted for Owen's murder. McKelvey stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs around 200 pounds. He has dreadlocks but may have cut them since the murder. He also has multiple tattoos on his left arm.
Now, McKelvey is on the run and desperate to stay out of sight.
"Unfortunately, if [someone] shoots somebody and kills somebody it is possible they will do it again to avoid being apprehended from law enforcement or some witnesses who may know something about this crime," said Sergeant Donald Bush with the Columbus Police Department.
Police say there is a reward for information that leads to the arrest of McKelvey.
So take a long look at this photo and help police close this case.
"We would really appreciate if someone would come forward and give us the location, of course don't put yourself in danger but call your local law enforcement so we will be able to do our job and apprehend and get this person off the streets of Columbus," Sgt. Bush said.
If you know the whereabouts of SaCorey McKelvey you are urged to contact Columbus police at (706) 653-3188.
