Central hires DuBose as head football coach

PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WTVM) – Central High School hired Jamey DuBose on Tuesday and will introduce him as the new Red Devils head football coach at 6:00 pm ET at the school's auditorium.

DuBose was hired as Charles Henderson head football coach in January, leaving the Trojans program before he coached a game.

DuBose spent the past two seasons at Florence, where he posted a record of 16-8 and took the Falcons to the playoffs both years, including a trip to the AHSAA 6A quarterfinals last season.

He is best known for his four-year run as Prattville's head coach, when he went 45-10 and led the Lions to 6A state titles in 2008 and 2011, as well as a state runner-up finish in 2010.  DuBose had been Prattville's offensive coordinator the previous four seasons, which included two other state title runs by the Lions.

DuBose was also spent two years as head coach at Susan Moore High School in Blountsville. His overall coaching record is 71-29 in eight seasons.

He replaces Woodrow Lowe, who was fired as head coach at Central on May 19.
