The "Original" Caldwell Gospel Singers honored with roadway dedication

Posted: Updated:

The Original Caldwell Gospel Singers of Seale, Ala. were honored Wednesday, May 28, by the Russell County Commissioners.

A new sign on the side of the highway was unveiled for the singers, who have performed all over the country for forty years. They have served communities in Alabama, Columbus, and surrounding areas while recording several gospel songs in hopes of strengthening the hearts of many.

John Caldwell, a founding member of Caldwell Gospel Singers, says, "It's been a vision for me over the last several years, and we worked diligently with the County Commissioners that are here today, and in February, they officially passed a resolution to name the road in honor of my family."

The sign is located in Seale, Ala. off of Hwy 169 and Russell 22.
