PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -

Phenix City held a work session on Monday in front of a packed house, and the woman claiming she was beaten by a Phenix City police officer took the floor to urge council to find answers.

Elizabeth Coty-Green says nearly a month ago, she was punched in the face by a police officer inside her home -- as shown in this video that could been graphic.

Green tells us the officer forced his way into the house without her permission.

She claims the officer wrestled her to the ground, where she was knocked unconscious.

She went before city council demanding they take action, and she says what she got in response was underwhelming.

"I was not pleased with what I got from council," Green said. "I think it was a smoke screen. I know the litigation is there, but if I can come out and say what went on why can't they? The truth is the truth?"

Council declined to comment, saying that once litigation has been filed, contact can only be made by the city's attorney.

We have filed a freedom of information act request to get a copy of the supplemental police report as well as the 911 recording.

According to Alabama laws -- the material requested is not public record as long as the case is being investigated.

Green says she plans to take her case to the FBI.

She has a court date for the criminal charges brought against her for resisting arrest in August.
