TROY, AL (WSFA) -

Troy City Schools Superintendent Dr. Lee Hicks says he must finish what he started after signing a new four-year contract with the school district.

Hicks was scheduled to interview Tuesday with the Phenix City Board of Education for the open superintendent position.

Just last week Charles Henderson High School football coach and athletic director Jamey Dubous took a change in position by becoming the head football coach at Charles Henderson High School in Phenix City.

According to officials, the board has been going through the renewal process since February. Hicks original three-year contract expired on June 30, although a one-year extension kicked in after the board failed to provide a new contract by Jan. 1 of this year.

Hicks new four-year contract includes a salary of $122,000, which is an increase by the previous base by $7,000.
