(WXTX) - A single-vehicle crash Monday, June 2, claimed the life of an Opelika man, according to the Alabama Department of Public Safety.
Matthew Jacob, 60, died after the 2011 Kenworth dump truck he was driving left the roadway and overturned. Jacob was not wearing a seat belt at the time.
The crash occurred at 4:53 p.m. on Interstate 85 (northbound) near the 44 mile marker, six miles south of Auburn.
Jacob died at 8:33 p.m. at Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Ga.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
