(WISN/CNN) - The family of a 12-year-old Wisconsin girl, who was stabbed 19 times by two other 12-year-old girls, is speaking out.

A cyclist found the girl lying near the woods here on Saturday, bleeding badly.

She is now in fair condition at the hospital.

Her family issued this statement:

"As parents of this little girl, we are overwhelmed with the amount of love and support we've received from our family, friends and community. Our little girl is a fighter and is improving each and every day."

The two suspects, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, are being charged as adults.

Police say they planned the attack to impress a fictional online character, known as "Slenderman."
