Hope Harbour hosts silent auction to benefit domestic violence victims

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

One local non-profit organization continues to help victims who suffer from domestic violence. Hope Harbour hosted its Bidding for Hope silent auction on Thursday.

Dozens of supporters turned out for the fundraising event at the W.C Bradley Company museum.

The Executive Director of Hope Harbour says women are not the only victims they help.

"Domestic violence has no color, it has no age, it has no dollar sign. So, it happens to men although women are the primary victims. Roughly six percent of the victims are men," says Executive Director Cassandra Smith.

All of the proceeds from Thursday night's event will go to the local Hope Harbour shelter which serves domestic violence victims.
