Columbus Cottage announces next recipient

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

The Columbus Cottage program officially announced its next recipient of a new home Friday, June 6.

Volunteers with House of Heroes and NeighborWorks Columbus have been working on renovating the new home located in Bibb City since last week. 83-year-old Edna Reeves is the surviving spouse of navy veteran darrell reeves.

Columbus Cottage House recipient Edna Reeves says, "We been here 50 years, and I said they've got some hard job if they fix, it and they're trying and we appreciate it so tremendously."

The Reeves family had been living in the original home since 1964. The new project is expected to be completed by Aug. 2014. This is the first time NeghborWorks Columbus and House of Heroes are partnering together for this event.
