KANSAS CITY, KS (KSHB/CNN) - A driver saw a shocking sight Friday when another driver threw kittens out of a moving car.

After leaving a dentist appointment, Robert Ramberger was driving down I-70 in Kansas City, KS when he saw someone throw two kittens out of a moving car.

"I think they were opening their door and throwing them under the car," Ramberger said.

He quickly pulled over onto the shoulder and got out of his car to try to save one of the kittens.

"Kind of ran out in the middle of the road and cars were skkeerrrrr," Ramberger said. "I scooped him up and threw him in my car and came here."

Ramberger brought the kitten, named Rambo, to the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City.

"He's kind of a miracle kitty," said Keith Widenkeller, from the humane society.

It took workers about an hour to get the frightened kitty out of Ramberger's car.

"He was pretty banged up, although I would say remarkably in one piece for a kitten that had been thrown out the car on highway speed," Widenkeller said.

With no broken bones and only a few bumps and bruises Rambo will soon be ready for a loving home.

"The reason that we exist is because of people like Robert in the world who care about what happens to animals and how we treat them and how that reflects on who we are as people," Ramberger said

People interested in adopting the tiny kitten can call the Humane Society of Greater Kansas.
