OXFORD, MS -
(WMC) -  For the first time in 42 years, the University of Mississippi is going to the College World Series.

It took all three games, but the Ole Miss Rebels came out on top, beating Louisiana Lafayette to advance to Omaha for the first time since 1972.

"It was really awesome. A great atmosphere! It was great to see the 600 Rebel fans who were able to get tickets to get in," said Bill Bunting of the Mississippi public relations department.

Ole Miss takes on Virginia Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska. It will be the fifth CWS appearance for the Rebels. Their best performance came in 1956 when they made it to the semifinals.

"Fans will walk, ride, crawl, fly, drive, whatever they have to do to get out there. So I expect there to be a large contingent of rebel fans in Omaha."

If you can't get tickets, don't worry. The game will air live on ESPN2.
