Hugs for Soldiers hands out Girl Scout cookies to troops

FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) -

A Georgia organization made Hump Day extra sweet for soldiers on Fort Benning.

Hugs for Soldiers from Duluth embraced our men and women in uniform with almost 15,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies on Wednesday, June 11.

7,000 of those cookies will go to Kelley Hill soldiers of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team.

The organization started its partnership with deployed soldiers in the Middle East in 2003.

Since that time they have become one of the top ten organizations in the U.S. offering support to the military, according to Scholastic Parent magazine.
