Same house catches fire twice in one morning

Posted: Updated:

A north Toledo house caught fire twice in one day. Toledo firefighters say an arsonist could be to blame.

Firefighters first responded to a blaze at a home on the 100 block of W Streicher Street, near Cottage Avenue, around 4 a.m. Sunday.

According to the fire chief on scene, the flames started on the front porch, quickly spreading up the two-story structure.

No one was injured in the fire.

Just hours later, around 9 a.m., firefighters were called back to the same location for another fire, this time in a different area of the house.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames for a second time. The total amount of damage is unknown at this time.

An arson investigator will be on scene Sunday to look into what caused the fires to spark. Fire officials say they are not ruling out arson.

The house is believed to be vacant.
