AUBURN, AL (WTVM) -

On Wednesday, June 18 the Auburn Police Division arrested 36-year-old Booker T. Thomas Jr. from Birmingham on a felony warrant charging him with sodomy first degree.

The arrest is the result of an ongoing investigation of a police report that was made on May 27, 2014 in which officers were informed that a child under the age of 12 years old was sexually abused by Thomas, who is a former family member, while at a residence on Lee Road 191 during a time frame between 2001 and 2006.

An investigation into the incident was initiated by the Detective Section of the Auburn Police Division. Thomas was subsequently located by Auburn Detectives in Birmingham and a warrant was obtained for his arrest.

He later turned himself in at the Auburn Police Division Building and was taken into custody.

Thomas was transported to the Lee County Jail and will be eligible for a $25,000 bond.
