On June 20, people across the Fountain City came together to celebrate the holiday commemorating African-American freedom with the 2014 Juneteenth Western Round-Up Dinner Dance.

Dancers came out dressed in their full western gear from their cowboy hats to the cowgirl boots!

The Juneteenth Western Round-Up Dinner Dance is hosted by a local chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

Pauline Talley, a Juneteenth event organizer, says, "One of our members had the unique idea to celebrate Juneteenth, which is the celebration of slaves being freed."

Rochelle Jones, another Junetheenth organizer, says, "You get to see people you haven't seen all year long... Just waiting for Juneteenth to come around. We get together and do line dancing. We do lots of line dancing."

This is the sorority's eleventh year hosting the Juneteenth Western Round-Up Dinner Dance.
