Second suspect arrested in connection to deadly home invasion

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Wilmington Police have arrested a second suspect in connection to a deadly home invasion that took place June 13, 2014.

According to Linda Rawley with Wilmington Police Department, Markee Tyric George, 26, has been taken into custody for the murder of Aaron McGhee.

George has been charged with:

  • first degree murder 
  • robbery with a dangerous weapon - three counts
  • conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon
  • assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury
  • attempted first degree murder
George is expected to make his first court appearance on Wednesday.

Last week, US Marshals Task Force arrested Zeer Nifis Cannady for his connection to the fatal shooting.

Witnesses told police that Cannady and two other gunmen entered McGhee's home on South 13th Street to commit robbery and that's when shots were fired.

McGhee later died at the hospital. Terae Kareem Graham was also shot during the incident, but survived.

Officials are still searching for a third suspect.
