21 year-old man shot in the face while sleeping

A Columbus community is in shock after a man was shot in the face as he slept inside his home early Wednesday morning.

Investigators say it happened on the 3200 block of 6th Avenue around 3 a.m. The victim told police someone barged into his home and attacked him.

The 21-year-old man was sleeping in the living room of his home when he was shot in the face with a pistol, according to a police report.

The victim first reported he was beat up, but investigators tell report upon arriving at Midtown Medical Center, a bullet was found lodged in his head.  His injuries are non-life threatening.

The victim's neighbor says the neighborhood is usually calm and quiet.

"It's kind of shocking and unbelieving for something to happen like that on any random day. It's a random thing, it just don't normally happen," Daniel Bradshaw claims.

The victim's neighbor Daniel Bradshaw has lived a few doors down from the victim for about two years.  He says he was up around the time the shooting occurred but did not hear anything unusual.
He says the victim usually keeps to himself.

"The only time I see him is when he's riding past. Sometime, when I'm on my way to school, I just see him drive past, I don't actually know him," says Bradshaw.

Bradshaw says he was up all night playing video games but did not hear anything unusual.
He says he still feels safe in his home.
As of Wednesday evening, authorities reported the victim as in stable condition. No one else was inside the home during the invasion.

No suspects have been identified.
