WTVM, WXTX blood drive collects 33 units of blood

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

During the summer, blood supplies become low as many people become busy or go on vacation.

On a normal summer day, the Red Cross may see about eight patients on average. But officials at the Red Cross tell us that a total of 33 units of blood were collected from a blood drive hosted by WTVM and WXTX at the Columbus Donor Center on Wednesday, June 25.

This amount can help provide life saving blood to nearly 99 patients in the Columbus area.

Thank you to everyone who came out to give blood.

Anyone interested in giving blood can contact the Red Cross at any time.
