Body found at Northwood America's Best Value Inn

NORTHWOOD, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A body has been found at a Northwood Motel, according to Northwood Police.

The police department says the body of 48-year-old Johnny Ray Willett was found at the Northwood America's Best Value Inn on Friday June 27. Willett was from Tennessee, and may have come to the area looking for work, according to police.

Police say they went to the motel around 11 a.m. to serve a search warrant on two rooms, looking for drugs. While they were there, police say a maid notified them that there was a body in a different room. They are making sure to preserve the scene for evidence and are currently not certain of the cause of death.

Police say they do not believe the two cases are related.

"They were different rooms, different floors of the hotel. There's no indication right now that the two are related. I think it's just happenstance that we were here and doing our job in one way and we happened to get a call on the other," said Sgt. Doug Hubaker with the Northwood Police Department.
