MARIETTA, GA (WTVM) -

A memorial service will be held Wednesday to remember former Auburn football player Philip Lutzenkirchen.

He was killed along with UGA's Ian Davis who was driving in an accident Sunday near LaGrange.

Troopers say the SUV was going 55 miles an hour when it went through a stop sign and overturned. Toxicology reports are pending.

Lutzenkirchen was a fan favorite at Auburn, remembered for his work on and off the field.

The memorial service is this evening at 8 at Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia where he went to school.

Also, a public visitation and funeral mass will start Thursday, July 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta.

We will have more on this story on the news at 11.
