COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A husband and wife from the Chattahoochee Valley are teaming up in a unique and patriotic way this Fourth of July weekend.

It all started with Tim Maggart's song Freedom Train which reached number nine on the Inspirational Country Music Chart. Now, the Columbus singer-songwriter has produced The New American Freedom Train Show which debuts Saturday night, July 5, at the Springer Opera House.

His wife, Kathy Maggart, also co-wrote a children's book entitled The 1947 Freedom Train. The book is being released Friday, July 4, and Kathy will be at the National Infantry Museum all day to sell and sign books during Freedom Fest.

"Really, you're going to walk out of here proud to be an American, proud of our military and their families, appreciating what they've done for us, and probably singing a couple tunes stuck in your head," says Tim.

"It's a very unknown, untold story about the country, so patriotic," Kathy explains. "We're hoping to inspire great patriotism."

The unique stage show, with original music and monologues, will be at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, at the Springer.
