14-year-old boy shot in west Augusta remains in hospital

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The 14-year-old boy who was shot in the abdomen Saturday on Agerton Lane is in stable condition at Georgia Regents Medical Center, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found the boy at 10:12 p.m. at 1137 Agerton Lane near Limelight Cafe across from Regal Cinemas.

Brandon Hilton, 17, was arrested Sunday and is charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct, criminal damage to property in the first degree, criminal damage to property in the second degree and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, according to the sheriff's office.

A frequent movie-goer said the shooting makes her nervous.

"It makes me nervous because my little cousins and my nieces and nephews like to go to the movies a lot," Tabitha Tutt said, "so that does kind of bother me that he got shot at that young age and he was just probably just going to see a movie."

If you have any information on the shooting, contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1080.
