Phenix City police arrest Church’s Chicken robbery suspect

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -

The Phenix City Police Department has arrested a suspect involved in a robbery at Church's Chicken on July 7.

Officials report that Kendall Sharod Passmore, 18, entered the Church's Chicken located on U.S. Highway 280 in Phenix City at about 8:35 a.m. Monday.

Once inside the business, Passmore forced employees at gunpoint to open safe, and cash registers. Passmore stole one bank bag with an undisclosed amount of money and removed all loose cash from registers. He then forced employees at gunpoint into the men's bathroom and fled the scene.

Shortly after the robbery, Passmore led officers on a foot chase and was apprehended. He was arrested and charged with first degree robbery.

At time of arrest, Passmore was found to be in possession of a handgun, an undisclosed amount of currency, and the clothing worn during robbery.
