Harbor Village Florida comments on Tennessee Teens Appetite for Hard Drugs.
USA (PRWEB) July 07, 2014
Young people in Tennessee are abusing drugs well over the national average according to a recent CDC report. The Tennessean reported in an article Tennessee Teens Appetite for Hard Drugs Grows (7/2) that the use of intravenous drugs like heroin are rising quickly. The CDC compiled the data over 18 months in 2012-2013; it showed that Heroin was the first opiate the teens had used (no prior painkiller usage, for example), some patients said that gaining access to heroin was easier than ordering a pizza, use of injection drugs has risen drastically each year since 2009, and prescription drug abuse still a growing problem (19% admitted to abusing them).
Many still blame a slow economic recovery; parents are working more than one job and arent able to supervise their children properly, parents are taking jobs that were once the realm of teenagers, so teenagers are unemployed, and the average age for drug abuse begins at 12 and 13; as teens get older, their needs increase. Treating teens for heroin and opiate addiction requires a program specifically aimed at them, and our facility, Harbor Village, does just that. From helping teens understand the underlying causes of the addiction to giving them the tools to have happy, successful lives, we understand that the only way to treat the problem is specialized care.
Located in South Florida, Harbor Village Florida, a drug treatment center, has programs in place to help those suffering from a dependency to alcohol overcome their abuse. The 24/7 medically supervised detox facility allows each client to recover in a luxury, state-of-the art environment.
