TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Toledo Police arrested five juveniles Monday evening after they were caught vandalizing Robinson Junior High School in central Toledo.

According to the police report, officers responded to a report of juveniles throwing rocks at the school. When they arrived on the scene, they found five minors throwing a trash can into the road. A search of the school found that a window in the front of the building was shattered.

Officers also discovered a dumpster on the property was on fire, and another dumpster had been on fire. The Toledo Fire Department responded to the scene to put the fire out.

Four of the five suspects stated it was the fifth suspect, a 16-year-old, who threw the rock and broke the window. Two 14-year-old suspects had lighters in their pockets. All juveniles were arrested and transported to the Juvenile Justice Center.

The 16-year-old has been charged with criminal damage and arson. The other four, including a 12-year-old and 10-year-old, have been charged with arson. The 10-year-old suspect was released to his mother.

A Toledo Public Schools security officer reviewed surveillance video as part of the investigation.
