New start, end times announced for MCSD

(WTVM) -

Parents should make note of the new school start time and new school end time for all middle schools for the 2014 school year.

Old Middle School Start Time: 9 a.m.

New Middle School Start Time: 8:50 a.m.

Old Middle School End Time: 4:05 p.m.

New Middle School End Time: 3:52 p.m.

In order to establish more continuity between the middle and high school scheduling models, the middle school bell schedule (start and end time) is modified to reflect similar scheduling changes that were made at the high school level and helps to facilitate efficient bus schedules.

The middle school time change also allows school administrators to incorporate Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and Increased Learning Time (ILT) at the middle school level during the eight hour work day.

High schools will dismiss five minutes earlier. Breakfast will be served 15 minutes earlier at all elementary schools.
