Columbus kids begin auditions for upcoming TV pilot

The YMCA on Warm Springs Rd. held preliminary auditions for a few kids on Thursday, July 10, for an upcoming kids' TV game show pilot about lip syncing.

The show idea is called Five Minutes of Fame, and the pilot is expected to be filmed in Columbus. Kids who made it through the YMCA auditions will go on to the main casting call auditions taking place at the Gallery on Saturday, July 12.

Latisha Littleton of Madam Money Productions says she is talking to several major networks, such as Disney and Nickelodeon, who may be interested in picking up the show.

"It's keeping kids off the streets," says Littleton. "It's giving kids something to do in the Columbus area. It's giving us an opportunity that never comes to Columbus, and that's the opportunity for fame. So we're very excited about that."

The casting call for Five Minutes of Fame will be Saturday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gallery located at 4261 Macon Rd. in Columbus. The call is for kids ages 10 to 18, and casting is for judges, contestants and a host. The game show will highlight lip syncing and dance.
