Suit drive to benefit employment seekers in the Chattahoochee Valley

Men's Warehouse stores across the nation are participating in a suit drive, and the one in Columbus will benefit job seekers in the Chattahoochee Valley.

From July 1 through 31, participants can donate their gently used suits and/or business attire at Men's Warehouse. In return, they will receive a tax write off for their donations, and a Men's Warehouse coupon.

The donated suits from the Columbus location will be taken to the Urban League of Columbus where job applicants needing business attire while seeking employment will be fitted to the best suit available for their size.

"Suit etiquette, business attire, all of those things are a part of what the hiring world wants to see," says Gregory Haynes, Jr./Asst. Manager at Men's Warehouse in Columbus. "Without those things, sometimes it's hard to make that impression that you need if you don't have the right tools."

The Urban League and Men's Warehouse urge the community to donate what they can to help local citizens who are in need, and are working towards becoming better members of society.

Brooke Burgess, President & CEO of The Urban League of Greater Columbus, Inc. says having a suit can also help build confidence. "Somebody can go in, come to the Urban League with a referral for the suit, get a job interview and have the confidence to go in and reach success."

This is the 2nd year of the suit drive.
