Kitten recovering after being tossed from Diamond Causeway Bridge

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Animal control officials said a kitten is expected to make a full recovery after someone threw it off a bridge

Animal Control officers from the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department are still seeking the public's help in identifying the person who threw the kitten off the Diamond Causeway Bridge.

Metro's Marine Patrol and Animal Control officers teamed up to rescue the male kitten that survived the fall into the water, swam to shore and then became stuck in mud.

He is recuperating at the Metro Animal Control Shelter.

Construction crews reported hearing a noise before seeing the kitten falling toward the water.

Anyone with information on the identity of those responsible is asked to call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
