COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus Police Department has arrested two suspects believed to have shot a cab driver.
Police units were dispatched to the vacant lot at 701 Brown Avenue in reference to a shooting on June 10 at approximately 2:45 a.m.
The patrol officers discovered a cab driver sitting inside of a cab, who had been shot by unknown assailants.
The cab driver was transported to the Midtown Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries and eventually released from the hospital.
Members of the Columbus Police Department Robbery/Assault Unit began an investigation, which led to the arrests of 19-year-old Nicholas Jemese Thomas and 21-year-old Terrence Lamar Sanders.
Both are charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and criminal attempt armed robbery.
Police were already searching for Thomas and Sanders, who are accused of committing at least six armed robberies in June 2014 around the Columbus area.
