Police ask for help finding missing man after murder charges filed

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Toledo couple is behindbars in Indiana while Toledo Police search for the man they now believe wasmurdered.

Ypsilanti man Brian Martinwas last seen in Toledo on June 22, when he was in the city to coach a softballgame. Once his family reported him missing, TPD executed a search warrant atthe home of Desirae Strauss, the married woman Martin had been seeing.

"We actually were able toenter the house and see that there had been some alterations done to the house,"said TPD Det. Vince Mauro.

Evidence found in thehouse suggests that Martin was bludgeoned to death inside Strauss' home onConsaul Street in east Toledo. Police believe Strauss and her husband Robertthen took off and dumped the body somewhere between Toledo and Anderson,Indiana before they were arrested on unrelated charges.

"Some of the statementsand some of the people we've interviewed have indicated that possibly he may bein a rural area," Det. Mauro said.

The Strausses arecurrently being held in an Indiana jail, but Toledo Police have filed murdercharges against the couple.

TPD is working with otherpolice departments, and they're asking the public to check their property foranything suspicious.

"We would ask, obviouslyif they did come across something that they thought was suspicious…to calltheir local authorities, who in turn would contact the Toledo Police," Maurosaid.

Patricia Anderson livestwo doors down from the Strausses. She says she had one interaction with RobertStrauss and had an uneasy feeling about him.

"I got an uncomfortablefeeling, and here this guy was like just a couple feet away from me," Andersonsaid. "He could have done anything."
