SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police have identified a teen they believe is responsible for shooting a woman in west Shreveport late last month.

The shooting happened just after 10 p.m. on June 26. Patrol officers were called to the Old Salem Apartments in the 6700 block of Buncombe Rd., where they found 23-year-old Jessica Bernard had been shot in the torso. She was taken to University Health with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say their investigation revealed that Bernard and two others were engaged in a drug deal when 17-year-old Eudarrius Gooden fired shots at the group, ultimately striking Bernard.

A warrant has been issued for Gooden, charging him with one count of aggravated battery. His bond is set at $50,000.

Anyone with any information regarding this shooting or the whereabouts of Eudarrius Gooden is urged to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or www.lockemup.org
