NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Bourbon Street shooting suspect Trung Le has been extradited to New Orleans, according to an Orleans Parish District Attorney spokesperson. Le arrived back in New Orleans on Saturday.

Le is charged with one count of first degree murder and nine counts of attempted first degree murder stemming from the June 29 shooting that took the life of 21-year-old Hammond resident Brittany Thomas. Le was taken into custody on July 4 in Gulfport, MS. He remained in a Mississippi jail until Mississippi Lt. Governor Tate Reeves signed a warrant to have Le extradited to Louisiana.

"As Acting Governor and in coordination with Gov. Bryant's office, I have signed the rendition warrant to extradite Trung T. Le to authorities in Louisiana at the request of Gov. Jindal,"  Reeves said. "The sooner the warrant can be executed the sooner Louisiana law enforcement can work toward justice in this horrible incident."

During the shooting on Bourbon Street, police believe at least two suspects exchanged gunfire, wounding bystanders in the crowd, before fleeing the scene. Police believe Le fired the first shot.

The search for the second gunman continues.
