Officials with the Alabama Marine Police are warning those who jump off Acapulco Rock, which most people call "Chimney Rock," at Lake Martin after another incident happened over the weekend.

On Sunday around 6 p.m. witnesses flagged down officials after a 22-year-old woman from Nashville was injured after jumping from the rocks, according to Capt. Matt Brooks with the Alabama Marine Police.

Alex City Fire and Rescue were taken out to the scene where they stabilized her. She was then taken from the ridge by helicopter to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. The woman's condition hasn't been released.

Brooks said this is the first incident for 2014. In the past 7 years they have responded to two to three incidents a year. He says the incidents always occur after someone jumps from the highest point.

Brooks says there is a significant risk when jumping from the rock, however thousands jump every year without injury.
